Color Trend Project: Yellow & Grey

Several months ago, I came across a post from Pinterest stating that a trending color combination was yellow & grey. Intrigued, I decided I wanted to make a quilt using those two colors. I noticed right away though that yellow wasn’t a very popular color in fabric. After a couple of months of “research” aka shopping, the fabric came together and a pattern was picked shortly thereafter.

What I love about this quilt is that it proves that there is such a thing as modern quilting – it is just a matter of picking the right fabric and right design.

As yellow is to gold, grey is to silver. Yellow is invigorating and with grey signifying contentment and calmness you naturally have a very nice contrast. Universally yellow is associated with the sun signifying warmth as well so this scheme I find to be perfect set for a quilt. I’d definitely use this to highlight a favorite piece of furniture around my house as well as cuddling up in it 😉 good work! To an end, where can one purchase one of these masterpieces?

Hi Emma! Thanks for all of your kind words. Regarding purchasing a quilt, I don’t have any other quilts completed that are available for purchase just yet. When I do, I am planning on selling on etsy.com. That said, if you have something in mind I would be happy to work with you to make a customized quilt 🙂

Texting and Skating

Texting and skating… not something you would expect to see at a roller rink but guess what it is happening! This picture depicts to me a shift in how times have changed – the simple pleasure of skating in solitude seems to be a dying art. Rather this photo clearly brings to our attention how we as a society can’t just take a break and put our phones down once and for all. Oh wait, did I mention I took this photo using my iPhone….

Saturday’s Pennant Banner

Today is the last day of our Pennant Week so to end it, I chose a seasonal banner from one of my favorite holidays – Halloween! These banners could be used at a Halloween party, Fall Festival, or used for decor along the door frame on Halloween evening.

Each individual pennant is 9″ in length and the entire banner itself is approximately 87″ wide. This pennant can be yours for $30 (plus $5 for shipping). Email me directly at (mail@jechase.com) if interested in purchasing.
