Exploring iPhoneography

It has been a while since I blogged but after a long hiatus, I am back! So what have I been up to? Well I have put my camera on much needed vacation break and have been exploring iPhoneography.

So what is iPhoneography? Simply put iPhoneography is coupling the art of photography using your smart phone. In my case, my iPhone. You can learn more about iPhoneography and see more images at the iPhoneography blog.

So why take photos on your iPhone? Well there isn’t a better reason to take photos on your iPhone. It is more about convenience. You see, I don’t walk around with my DSLR with me all the time so if I see a shot I want to catch I usually have to note it and come back. The advantage of using your iPhone to capture pictures is that I typically have my phone with me everywhere I go. So if I see something that catches my eye, I can capture it right away. This is very important for those moments that fleeting and can’t be re-done. It has also served me well in exploring Street Photography too.

But wait my pictures from my iPhone don’t look that way? My pictures don’t start out that way either. iPhoneography is heavily dependent on good post processing and with all of the amazing apps out there, you are only limited to your vision. Next time, I will discuss iPhoneography apps in further detail. For now, here are some of my favorite images captured over the last couple of months.
